Update: Most Myrtle Beach area courses will reopen Friday or Saturday in the wake of Tropical Storm Debby

Most courses closed for a minimum of three days as torrential rainfall hit the Grand Strand

Must read

The majority of golf courses in the Myrtle Beach market will reopen Friday or Saturday as Tropical Storm Debby moves out of the Carolinas.

The slow-moving storm battered the Carolinas for several days and forced the closure of the Grand Strand’s approximately 70 public courses for at least three days in most cases.

While the Strand avoided the full impact of the storm, torrential rainfall saturated courses and forced the closures.

According to reports from individual courses and Golf Tourism Solutions, the marketing and technology agency that promotes the Myrtle Beach market, at least 24 courses will reopen Friday and at least 25 will reopen Saturday.

See the full list of the planned reopening dates of GTS member courses at the PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com website.

Cart path-only restrictions are expected on most area courses upon their reopening.
